SAT Subject Tests

Odyssey offers test preparation for one-hour subject tests known as SAT IIs. About 150 colleges (often more selective schools) require or recommend that students submit scores from these tests. Nearly all of the schools that ask for subject tests ask students to submit scores from two different tests, although a few schools recommend that students submit scores from three separate tests.

One cannot take the SAT I and the SAT IIs on the same day. The SAT II tests are also not offered on the March test date. Most students take subject tests at the end of their junior year (during the May or June test dates), although some take an SAT II after a specific course (for example, if you took an AP Biology class your sophomore year of high school, it would make sense to take the test at the end of your sophomore year, rather than take it junior year, when the material is no longer fresh in your mind).

Odyssey works one-on-one with students to prepare them for the following SAT IIs:

  • Literature
  • U.S. History
  • World History
  • Mathematics Level One
  • Mathematics Level Two
  • Biology (Ecological/Molecular)
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

Note: We do not offer preparation for the SAT II language tests.
